The General Electric P42 is a modern 4200 horsepower passenger locomotive commonly known as the ‘Genesis’ locomotive. It is widely used for railway operations in both the United States and Canada, replacing the EMD F40PH in revenue service. These locomotives are frequently seen operating in a mixed consist of Phase IV and Phase V schemes.
