This locomotive was commissioned by the New South Wales Government Railways to enhance efficiency and simplify operations on the Sydney to Albury route. Designed and constructed in Australia, these locomotives boasted an impressive 20 tonnes and up to 2500 horsepower. The first five locomotives, were built by Clyde Engineering of Sydney. With their streamlined design, they aimed to attract passengers of the time. The 3803 locomotive, the third built in the series, entered service in 1943. It is presented in its final paint scheme of Black with Red lining, a tribute to being the last C38 Streamliner to be withdrawn from service in 1968.
