A multi-functional long-range, heavy bomber the B-52H is capable of flying at high subsonic speeds and at altitudes of up to 50,000 feet. It can carry nuclear or precision guided conventional ordnance, and boasts precision navigational capabilities. B-52s were introduced in the 1950s, with the B-52H iteration making its debut in 1983.
Having performed missions in Afghanistan as part of the 20th Bomb Squadron (nicknamed Buccaneers). Participated in Operation Enduring Freedom, after the September 11th Attacks, they remain in service today and are expected to operate through 2050 with anticipated upgrades.
