The E235-1000 series is a new model train that debuted in December 2020 for the Yokosuka and Sobu lines. It is the first all-long seat train for standard cars with a cross-seat arrangement reserved for Green Cars. This train uniquely features onboard storage batteries that allow self-propulsion during emergencies like power outages. Due to space requirements for the emergency power supply, some MOHAE234 models have had their underfloor air tanks relocated to the rooftop, which is a prominent characteristic.
From the 2022 fiscal year, changes have been made to additional sets (F14, J14), including the removal of signal flames from the head roof for a cleaner exterior. Additionally, the electric couplers on the lead cars of the 11th and additional 1st cars have been omitted, with the obstacle deflector shape conforming to the 0 series. Currently, these trains operate actively on the Yokosuka and Sobu lines, as well as directly connected lines such as the Narita, Kashima, Sobu Main, Sotobo, and Uchibo lines.
